We had a live swap today with an open theme. The background is first muslin, then a serviette glued down, then paint brayered over the top. I love the strangeness of the fish placement. It was meant to go on her collar like a bow tie, but as I was cutting out the fish and just placing them in a pile off to the side one landed like this and I immediately loved it. I think you just have to go with instinct, whether it will make sense to other people or not.
